Program description
Worldwide employment and internship possibilities are available through the Prosthetic Dentistry Doctorate program. Both foreign and Cypriot students are welcome. The European Credit Transfer System (ECTS) and European regulations and rules were taken into consideration when designing it. After completing the program successfully, students receive a Doctorate Diploma in Prosthetic Dentistry.
This curriculum provides theoretical and practical instruction in fixed and removable prostheses, current knowledge and technology, and clinical applications of prosthetic dentistry. Comprehensive TMJ and maxillofacial defect diagnosis and therapy are taught and practiced. Current dental materials' general characteristics are taught. Current advancements are tracked and mirrored in clinical procedures through the presentation of seminars, cases, and articles.
The program's goal is to produce dentists who are capable of practicing prosthetic dentistry both domestically and abroad, who possess scientific knowledge and critical thinking skills, who are up to date, self-assured, and tolerant, who are committed to their work, who respect ethical principles, who are successful and competitive, and who are prepared to serve as researchers and educators.
Through this curriculum, students:
- Will possess a sophisticated theoretical and practical understanding of prosthetic dentistry, which they will use throughout their career. They learn about sophisticated prosthetic treatment choices (overdenture prostheses, hybrid prostheses, implant-supported restorations, etc.) in addition to fundamental prosthetic therapies.
- Will have details on every instrument, material, and gadget used in the prosthetic dentistry industry.
- They practice what they know to give the patients the best prosthetic care possible.

Requirements for applicants
Diploma and Graduation Degree: To be admitted to the doctoral program, the candidate must hold a master's degree in dentistry. Applicants for the PhD program must have graduated with a grade point average that satisfies the Department of Prosthodontics' basic requirements.
ALES score: To be admitted to the PhD program, candidates must receive a minimum of 55 (fifty-five) standard points on the Academic Personnel and Graduate Education Entrance Exam (ALES). Additionally, students from other nations and TRNCs—aside from Turkey—are exempt from the ALES requirement.
Exam for Foreign Languages: Turkish is the primary language of teaching for the PhD program. For programs in Turkish, applicants must receive at least 55 points on international language tests recognized by OSYM and the Council of Higher Education.
Within the specified application time, candidates apply to the appropriate department and include the ALES result document, the foreign language document, and any additional documents the Institute determines in their application.
In addition, applicants to PhD programs might be required to include a letter of recommendation and a justification for their desire to continue their education.
The graduate degree in dentistry and the ALES score are assessed for admission to the doctorate program. Through the interview, an oral assessment is conducted, considering the student's reference letter that was included with the application form and the petition outlining the objectives.
