Your potential and personality can grow here.You'll explain complicated issues visually to influence attitudes and actions as a communication designer.Your work will be attractive and convey messages and feelings. Content must be understood in its cultural, social, ecological, and economic contexts. This is driven by designers.
You'll learn from professional academics and lecturers from the creative industries using our workshops, libraries, studios, and laboratories. You'll have access to analogue letterpress/lead typesetting, screen-printing, risograph, b/w darkroom, picture studio, print and scan lab, MacPools, and a gaming lab.

Price
Fee for two semesters (1 year) is 12100,00 euro for international students
The tuition fee includes:
- Advanced teaching by faculty with real-world experience
- Personal career planning support from our Career Center colleagues
- Enrollment fee, examination fee, bachelor's or master's thesis fee
- State-of-the-art equipment in the teaching rooms and the technology lending facility (Arsenal)
- Free German or English language courses for enrolled students
- The possibility to individually choose modules from other programs as part of your curriculum
- Access to the Job Teaser online platform, through which UE connects you with practice partners and regional companies
- Use of the UE campus including library, cafeteria, WLAN and other services
Also once you are accpeted as a student, you will be asked to pay a reservation fee of € 3,000. The reservation fee is a one-time payment that will sercure your spot and that will be deducted from the total cost of the programme, before you are invoiced for tuition.
For example: If your total programme costs 30,000 € and the reservation fee is paid (3,000 €), you would only be invoiced for the remaining 27,000 € in tuition once you start studying.
Requirements for applicants
Admission to a Bachelor’s Degree program in Communication Design
The following requirements apply for the start of a Bachelor's degree:
- Higher education entrance qualification*;
- Portfolio (About 8 - 12 work samples that show your strength in visual communication. You may submit drawings, sketchbooks, collages, photographs, moving images, interactive projects, websites and other creative projects. Sketchbooks are welcome, too. All work should be accompanied by a short text reflecting on your project or work.)
- Motivation letter (min. 500 words)
* In certain cases, you may also be able to study without a high school diploma. In such cases you will need to have a minimum of three year’s professional experience, and be enrolling in a programme relevant to that experience.
