A more efficient and environmentally friendly production of food and fiber is urgently required on a global scale. Innovations in agricultural technology have sped up the pace of change in the industry. The challenge lies in analyzing the data and creating sustainable agricultural practices, but this data-intensive technology has great promise for improving production efficiency and decreasing agriculture's environmental effect.
In addition to a solid grounding in agriculture, students in the Agricultural Technology program learn advanced techniques in data analysis, GIS, and remote sensing. Our agricultural and farming system is the setting in which you will learn to combine data and make decisions as a major.

Bridging
Bridging units must be successfully completed within the first 48 points of study. Students who have not achieved a scaled mark of at least 50 in Mathematics Methods ATAR or equivalent or higher are required to complete SCIE1500. Students who have not achieved a scaled mark of at least 50 in Mathematics Applications ATAR or equivalent or higher are required to complete MATH1720 and SCIE1500. Note: Students who have completed MATH1721, are not required to complete SCIE1500. Students who have not achieved a scaled mark of at least 50 in Chemistry ATAR or equivalent or higher are required to complete CHEM1003.

To be considered for admission to this course an applicant must have
- achieved an ATAR of at least 75, or equivalent as recognised by UWA or
- an assured pathway offer or
- achieved a score of at least 100 in UWA's experienced based entry assessment or
- a place in a relevant UWA access program.
Mathematics requirement
This major requires a certain level of Chemistry and Mathematics. If you do not meet this level, you can take additional Chemistry and/or Mathematics units in your first year to satisfy this requirement.
WACE prerequisite: Mathematics Methods ATAR and Chemistry ATAR
English competency
- Minimum overall IELTS score of 6.5, with no band less than 6.0.
