Program description
The development of in vitro diagnostics and its use as near-patient testing is becoming more important as part of a paradigm change in healthcare practice. Globally, care providers have committed to transitioning to a more personalized and flexible community-based approach rather than conventional hospital-based treatment.
According to the World Health Organization, accurate, fast, and economical point-of-care tests (POCT) will improve access to infection testing and detection at all levels of the healthcare system. Rapid technological and clinical advancements have led in the creation of more complex and effective health-care gadgets.
To enable this transformation in delivery, highly competent biomedical scientists, as well as a broad range of health and care personnel, must have a solution-oriented approach. This brand-new Master's degree, which will begin in January 2025, is one of the first in the world to concentrate on this field and provide a course intended to meet changing healthcare demands.
Please note that you will be enrolled for the MSc Biomedical Sciences program, which includes a research project. All students will have the possibility to apply for an industrial placement as an alternative to the research project. Placements, subject to availability, are competitive and require an application and interview with the placement provider. If you are successful, you will be advanced to the MSc Biomedical Sciences with Industrial Practice.

Requirements for applicants
Academic Requirements:
- Applicants should have an undergraduate degree (2.2 or better) in a field related to Applied Bioscience, Bioscience, Biomedical Sciences, Biochemistry, Biological Sciences, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Virology, Human Biology, Immunology, Microbiology, Pharmacology, Genetics, Forensic Biology, Health Sciences. Consideration will be given to applicants who have relevant professional experience in areas including biomedical science and other science fields, primary care and data analytics
- Indian Bachelor of Arts / Science / Commerce with a minimum of 55-60% /10 Point Scale 5.5 - 6.0 or better (Applicants who do not cover the appropriate subjects during their degree will be considered if they have relevant industry experience)
English Language Requirements:
- IELTS 6.5 (with no component less than 6.0)
