Program description

Are you interested in modern crime and deviance causes and effects? Arden University’s BA (Hons) Criminology will help you grasp society’s changing view on crime and the complex criminal justice system.

Our criminology program helps you understand behavior, victimization, the law, and social responses to crime. You'll also study the criminal justice system, media portrayals of crime and victimisation, society's reaction to crime, and social control's future. Through global criminological theories and psychology and sociology insights, all these dimensions and more are examined.

The course covers a wide range of crimes, victimization, and miscarriages of justice. Our programme explores today's criminal justice system through in-depth studies of serial killers and violent offenders and landmark cases including Zahid Mubarak, Stephen Lawrence, Sarah Everard, and Mark Duggan. This prepares you for police, probation, human rights, criminal investigation, and intelligence careers.
