Program description
If you have at least 60 college credits, an associate degree, or a bachelor’s degree in a non-nursing field, Avila University’s Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN) program can help you transition into a rewarding nursing career in as few as 16 months. To get you ready to take the NCLEX-RN® and work as a registered nurse, this intensive curriculum blends classroom instruction with clinical experience.
In Avila's cutting-edge NERC, you may learn all the fundamentals of nursing and hone your clinical abilities. Gain valuable experience in a simulated and real-world setting with 60 hours of lab training. Then, you'll finish your education with supervised clinical rotations in healthcare facilities around Kansas City.
Because of Avila's small class sizes, you can get one-on-one attention from dedicated nursing professors who care about your progress. The program at Avila has an impressive three-year average NCLEX-RN® pass rate of 96.68%, and it is completely approved by the Missouri State Board of Nursing and accredited by the CCNE. Upon completion of this program, you will be prepared to enter the nursing profession with a solid grounding in patient care, leadership, and health promotion.

About the university

Upon their arrival in the United States from France in the middle of the 1800s, the Sisters of St. Joseph committed themselves to the "practice of all the spiritual and corporal works of mercy and which will most benefit the dear neighbor." Avila University was founded on these tenets, and it has carried on the heritage via its values and mission.
As a result of our Catholic heritage, Avila University offers an educational experience that fosters the growth of the whole person by teaching students how to love in a way that aims to bring them closer to God and to their beloved neighbor.
The goal of Avila students is to change the world and their communities through creativity, passion, and drive. There are a lot of international students from around the globe on campus. Brazil, Colombia, Haiti, France, India, Jamaica, Kenya, Malaysia, Nigeria, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Vietnam are among the nations.
