Program description
Degree awarded by University for the Creative Arts (UCA)
How can design help us live in a rapidly changing world? The MA User Experience Design program at UCA prepares you to become a human-centered, multidisciplinary, research-led designer ready for future challenges and opportunities as well as advanced job or study.
What people think and feel about a custom-made product, service, system, or environment is called "user experience". This intriguing and fast evolving field, which shares characteristics with 3D, environmental, graphic, information, interaction, interface, product, service, social, and other design topics, affects every element of human life. Throughout this course, students will cooperate to test, challenge, and expand their user experience and design methods as they construct new concepts and resilient, multinational, and creative networks.
The MA in User Experience Design will improve your analytical, artistic, technological, research, and critical, collaborative skills. The course uses large-scale projects with industrial partners and postgraduate students. It develops professional teamwork and project management skills and an environmental and socially appropriate portfolio in dedicated studios.
Program structure
Three terms of study and six months of dissertation work make up this 18-month (Level 7) User Experience Design MA.
In addition to participating in a variety of lectures and seminars during the first two terms, you will begin to delve deeper into your creative practice, which will help you later in the course while developing the specifics of your project proposal.
You start working on your master's project in the third term, analyzing and testing the objectives of your proposal over an extended length of independent study.
During the last phase, you will use the information you have learned from your research to produce a final body of work. You can choose to either take a general approach or focus on one of the three specializations listed below in relation to our BA courses: Animation, Illustration, or Graphic Design.
All of this program's modules are available and taught entirely on campus. Through the University for the Creative Arts portal, students will also have additional access to reading materials and courses.
