Program description
Composition and performance are as important as how music is recorded, mixed, and mastered.
Our BA (Hons) Music and Sound Production course allows you to make music and sound in a range of settings. It essentially allows you to pursue a rewarding career in a variety of music business jobs.
The course will teach you all you need to know to apply your technical skills and creativity in live and studio settings. You'll also understand the principles of working with artists.
Throughout the course, you will gain hands-on experience in our cutting-edge facilities and have direct access to cutting-edge equipment and software. World-class industry instructors who understand the intricacies of the creative process will be with you every step of the way, providing guidance and support.
Through the core modules, you'll focus on major subjects such as audio principles, music creation in context, practical studio engineering and software skills, application of acoustic theory and ways to meeting professional briefs. Along with expanding your technical expertise, you will improve your overall awareness of the sector, which will assist you in determining your place within it.

Tuition fees
- 15,950 GBP/year
All international students must pay a deposit in order to secure their place on the course they have applied for. Deposit amounts will depend on if you are self-funded or if you have secured financial aid or a loan.
- Self-funded international students: 4,000 GBP
- Funded international students: 1,000 GBP
The deposit amount is deductible from your total fees.
Requirements for applicants
- Successful completion of a BIMM admissions assessment.
- Minimum of 2 A-levels at Grade E or above (32 UCAS points), OR BTEC Level 3 equivalent, and normally three GCSEs at a minimum grade C/4, including English Language
- IELTS 6.0 with a minimum of 5.5 to be achieved in each band.
