Program description
With our BMus (Hons) Songwriting degree, you may explore your creativity while also learning about your craft and the industry. You'll discover everything there is to know about this music business staple. You'll study lyricism and aesthetics, music creation with technology, and music publishing.
Working with a wide group of outstanding artists to realise your aesthetic, intellectual, and industry aims will be central to the course. Interaction and collaboration with other composers, performers, producers, and business and events students on a daily basis will provide you with vital real-world experience.
In addition to being surrounded by this creative and energetic environment, you will have access to our cutting-edge facilities. Every day, you'll be learning in enormous live venues, recording studios, and seminar-style classrooms.
You will be encouraged to build your personal stylistic development from the start, through a variety of disciplines ranging from solo and group performances to commercial songwriting and music production for film, television, and online channels. You'll be able to select alternatives that best suit your interests and professional goals as the course continues. These selections will help mould you into a multi-skilled music professional in today's market.

Tuition fees
- 15,950 GBP/year
All international students must pay a deposit in order to secure their place on the course they have applied for. Deposit amounts will depend on if you are self-funded or if you have secured financial aid or a loan.
- Self-funded international students: 4,000 GBP
- Funded international students: 1,000 GBP
The deposit amount is deductible from your total fees.
Requirements for applicants
- Successful completion of a BIMM admissions assessment.
- Minimum of 2 A-levels at Grade E or above (32 UCAS points), OR BTEC Level 3 equivalent, and normally three GCSEs at a minimum grade C/4, including English Language.
- IELTS 6.0 with a minimum of 5.5 to be achieved in each band.
