Program description
Hospitality is a fundamental aspect of the Cape Breton way of life. Our Bachelor of Hospitality and Tourism Management (BHTM) degree programme at CBU is a three-year curriculum that integrates tourism and hospitality, business education, and the option to supplement a speciality area with elective courses. This interdisciplinary approach to the programme, combined with two paid internships, prepares students for a career in this diverse field.
This programme allows students to get up up and personal with everything from event planning and management to service training and hands-on learning. Learn how minute things make every guest feel special, and how amazing moments are created on a daily basis. Here, the talents you learn have a real-world impact and influence.
It's no surprise that students from more than 40 countries come to Cape Breton Island to learn what they need to succeed in the hospitality business, with results-oriented courses that study destination marketing, international travel, and event management. When you spend time living and learning in one of Canada's most popular tourist locations, it's easy to imagine careers in tourism, hotel management, food and beverage, and much more.
