Program description
You will learn to think critically about criminal justice and criminology in this taught master's degree. Each of the course modules is supplemented with a seminar that participants attend in person. Our online learning platform backs these up with PowerPoint presentations, supplementary reading, and tutorials. In order to help you organize your work or get feedback, we will offer you individualized, one-on-one tutorials. Students are given the opportunity to build their own particular area of interest through the completion of a dissertation after completing core and elective modules.
In the fall and spring semesters, full-time students will spend the academic year in university classrooms for the equivalent of two full workdays. It is expected that students would spend a significant amount of time outside of class studying on their own (with the right kind of guidance). The dissertation module stands out for its emphasis on self-directed study with guidance.
