Program description
The interdisciplinary Biomedical Science major (BMS) teaches applied life sciences in depth. The curriculum prepares students for public sector and government jobs, private industry, academic institutions, and graduate study in medicine, veterinary medicine, and allied biological and health professions. After starting with biology, physics, general chemistry, organic chemistry, math, and statistics, students will choose an area of concentration (anatomy and physiology, environmental public health, or microbiology and infectious disease) to tailor their education to career goals.
Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences graduates have many biomedical science study and employment options. The curriculum prepares students for health-related graduate and professional programs. Postgraduate options include neuroscience, reproductive endocrinology, cardiovascular, and patho-physiology. Government at the municipal, state, and national levels; research in university, industrial, and private laboratories; education; administration and management; and biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, and medical devices offer employment. Students will learn competitive, ever-changing job market skills.

Requirements for applicants
GPA requirements:
- A cumulative high school GPA of:
- 3.3 or higher (4.0 scale) for the Anatomy and Physiology concentration
- 3.0 or higher (4.0 scale) for the Microbiology and Infectious Disease concentration
- Four years of college-prep mathematics, at least two years of which must be algebra 1 and algebra 2 (or all three years of an integrated math sequence) with grades of C or better
- Three years of life, natural and/or physical sciences, at least two years of which must be biology and chemistry or an AP/IB/dual enrollment science equivalent with grades of C or better
- No F grades in any math or science course unless the exact course is retaken for a grade of C or better
English Language Requirements:
- IELTS: 6 Note: students may be granted full admission with lower scores of 5.5 IELTS however they would need to complete an English test that may result in EAP coursework being required alongside regular coursework for 1-2 semesters
- TOEFL: 72 Note: students may be granted full admission with lower scores of 60-71 TOEFL however they would need to complete an English test that may result in EAP coursework being required alongisde regular coursework for 1-2 semesters
