Program description
Mechanical engineering students take basic science and mathematics courses while beginning their engineering studies in design and computers. A variety of courses improves problem-solving. The year-long capstone design course in the final year helps students move from college to engineering. Students pick technical electives in energy, automotive, material science, manufacturing, dynamic systems, robotics and controls, simulation and modeling, and biomedical engineering. Labs enhance design, modeling, and analytical abilities via active learning.
Concentrations
- Advanced Manufacturing Concentration
- Aerospace Engineering Concentration
Potential Occupations
Graduates from the Department of Mechanical Engineering are anticipated to possess the essential knowledge necessary for the effective practice of mechanical engineering. Graduates of CSU's engineering program are well equipped for a professional job. The Department has achieved a 100% pass rate on the Fundamentals of Engineering professional test. Engaging in internships, co-curricular activities, volunteer work, and joint education possibilities is strongly advised to augment practical training and growth. Students who seek graduate study may get more responsibility professions with the potential to ascend to top professional levels.
