Program description
Constructor University's BSc in Earth Sciences and Sustainable Management of Environmental Resources emphasizes Earth-surface phenomena and processes in an interdisciplinary science degree. Our pupils learn about the biosphere, atmosphere, oceans, land masses, and human impact on the Earth's surface. The ESSMER program is built on chemistry, math, physics, and economics. Geochemistry, geodata analysis, data management, and sustainable economics are integrated with geology, environmental science, and digital geoscience. The modular curriculum allows for excellent integration of optional supplemental courses from the social sciences, like economics and management, and the life sciences, including biochemistry, cell biology, and microbiology. This unique framework highlights the need to understand environmental concerns holistically and from chemistry, physics, and economics perspectives.
ESSMER graduates are prepared to address current issues and research questions, such as the ethical and sustainable exploitation of natural resources, Earth's climate and ocean levels, the scientific processing and analysis of massive amounts of digital Earth data, and urgent human-caused environmental issues. The ESSMER curriculum is ideal for active, outdoors-loving students who care about Earth, its dynamics, and human impact. They should also consider the economic impact of their acts and seek to solve pressing real-world issues.
