Program description

Drew's political science program offers students a strong foundation in American politics, international affairs, comparative politics, and political philosophy. Political science majors collaborate closely with instructors to investigate politics and government from a variety of perspectives.

Our students participate in a variety of unique immersive activities that allow them to develop connections outside of the classroom and do independent study. Students interested in international diplomacy and development may take part in our Semester at the United Nations, where they will meet members of the United Nations Secretariat, delegations from member countries, special agencies, and non-governmental organizations. Students may also spend a semester in Washington, D.C., obtaining experience in the legislative and lobbying processes via direct contact with experts in the area. During the Social Impact Semester, students may learn about how today's organizations and social entrepreneurs generate change in New York City and throughout the globe. Students may also do collaborative research with instructors, gain skills and expertise with statistical data, and publish their findings in the World Politics Data Lab.
