Program description

Public health research influences policy discussions on illness prevention, health-care reform, and climate change. Drew's public health major is multidisciplinary, including the biological sciences, social sciences, and humanities, equipping students for employment in epidemiological research, health policy, and program implementation. Students are taught a population-level approach to health problem solving through research projects and a diverse curriculum, with a strong emphasis on scientific, social, and ethical principles. They graduate with a mastery of health care policy issues and an in-depth understanding of the many public health programs administered by federal, state, and local governments, as well as international agencies.
