Program description
This highly specialized program was created and is kept up-to-date in collaboration with recognized experts in the fields of addiction and mental health, such as Lakeridge Health Corporation, and is intended for students with prior, relevant education.
The Canadian Addiction Counsellors Certification Federation (CACCF) has determined that this curriculum satisfies the requirements for formal addiction education and will accept graduates who have completed it for certification.

- Develop additional competencies essential for working in substance abuse and mental health environments.

Requirements for applicants
- Degree in psychology or social work or related discipline or college diploma in health or social service work or Practical Nursing; overall grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 or 65 per cent average
- Minimum of three credits in post-secondary psychology courses
- English language proficiency
- Academic IELTS: 6.5, no band score less than 6.0
- IBT TOEFL: 88, with minimum section scores of 22
- PTE Academic: 60 minimum overall, no section below 57 L,W,S,R
- CAEL: Overall score of 70, no section below 70
