Program description
Under the direction of speech-language pathologists, audiologists, or both, communicative disorders assistants aid in putting into practice efficient treatment programs that will enable people of all ages communicate more successfully. The curriculum offers a specialized lab for Communicative Disorders Assistant Audiology that is equipped with the newest technology available.
Practical, hands-on lab skills and classroom courses are the main focus of the first two semesters. Through DC Kids Speech and Language Clinic, students can obtain real-world clinical experience. In their third semester, they will participate in field placements at various agencies and locations, where they can take advantage of priceless opportunities for experiential learning that will help them get ready for the workforce.

Requirements for applicants
- Two or three-year college diploma or three or four-year university degree with emphasis on communicative disorders; linguistics; cognitive sciences; psychology; health sciences; social sciences and/or human/social services curriculum.
- Applicants with a diploma or degree outside the scope named above will be considered if they have volunteer and/or work experience in a clinical setting with a speech-language pathologist, audiologist and/or communicative disorders assistant.
- English language proficiency
- Academic IELTS: 6.5, no band score less than 6.0
- IBT TOEFL: 88, with minimum section scores of 22
- PTE Academic: 60 minimum overall, no section below 57 L,W,S,R
