Program description
In response to the growing demand for PR professionals, this graduate certificate program in PR teaches students in-demand communication skills to succeed in a variety of careers. This curriculum provides specific courses in social responsibility, data collection and analysis, professional writing, media and influencer relationships, internet accessibility, and community relationship-building to give students a well-rounded PR education.
Graduates may use project management tools to develop and execute public relations campaigns, analyze data to evaluate project success and alignment with corporate goals, and collaborate in project teams. Understanding accessibility rules in Ontario (AODA), Canada (ACA and other provincial acts), and other nations offers graduates an edge in the job market and allows them to confidently create accessible digital content.
Students can apply their learning during an optional 14-week, 420-hour work period. They will be prepared to employ their multi-media, public relations, and communications skills in an agency, communications team, or organization. This optional work term allows graduates to transition into full-time employment and obtain career experience. DC is always there to help students get their job term.
