Program description

A strong foundation in early childhood education (ECE) is essential for subsequent academic success. For children under the age of 12, you, the early childhood educator, will play a crucial part in fostering their cognitive, social, emotional, linguistic, and physical growth.

The ECE major combines academic study with hands-on experience. In addition, you'll be guided by professional practice and principles as you interact with families, learn about pedagogy, and promote children's sense of belonging and well-being.

When you're ready to start working as a RECE in Ontario, you'll submit an application to the College of Early Childhood Educators, the province's governing authority for the field.
