Program description

You will have an exceptional hands-on opportunity to familiarize yourself with the concepts that are crucial to the food and agricultural industries, all within the framework of a field-to-fork philosophy, as you will spend more than half of your time participating in experiential learning opportunities in the labs and fields of the W. Galen Weston Centre for Food (Weston Centre). Plan, plant, care for, and harvest over fifty different types of vegetables, berry bushes, herbs, and more while learning in our fields, greenhouses, hoop house, and cutting edge food chemistry and processing facilities.

You will have a better awareness of the prospects associated with food production by creating your own line of value-added food items. You can position yourself as an industry leader by gaining essential skills in current farming concepts, food processing, and food preservation. These talents can be applied to producing your own food product, managing a food operation, owning a greenhouse, or operating a production farm.

You'll have a practical chance to learn about the principles of food production with the Food and Farming program.
