Program description
Founded in 1991, the Department of Architecture is one of EUL's oldest departments. Since its founding, it has been able to establish itself as one of the TRNC's top architecture departments. With the departments of architecture, interior design, and landscape design, the department was transformed into a faculty in 2013, strengthening its studio-based teaching approach.
The four-year, English-taught undergraduate program seeks to produce skilled, internationally seasoned architects.
Graduates of the program will have the chance to pursue careers as architects in a variety of fields. For instance, graduates of architecture schools may find employment in public planning offices and departments, private construction companies, architectural design offices, municipal planning departments, university academics, or as independent architects operating their own architect bureaus.
With the use of the academic research resources available, the Department of Architecture's programs are intended to produce architects who meet international standards.
Students can also transfer to other universities in the Middle East, Europe, North America, and Turkey thanks to the modular architecture degree program. Nevertheless, transfer students from other universities can enroll at the European University of Lefke. The curriculum for architectural education differs from that of other academic disciplines. A solid foundation in math, science, and social studies is necessary for students who wish to enroll in the department. Additionally, artistic abilities are necessary. All students studying architecture are required to keep up with the latest breakthroughs in technology, especially those pertaining to computers. They need to be able to use the newest technology to create models and constructions.
The academic staff of the department has thus been carefully selected to fulfill the responsibility of providing students with the best training possible and fostering the development of such skills or abilities. The department's elective courses give students the opportunity to broaden their knowledge and focus.
