About the university
Established by the Cyprus Science Foundation, the European University of Lefke formally began its academic operations in 1990 as a State Foundation University. Since its founding, the university and its departments have maintained accreditation with the Higher Education Council (Board) of the Turkish Republic.
At EUL, we highly value preparing incoming students to be trustworthy, creative, and professionally responsible individuals. They will also be urged to accept and cultivate cultural diversity, intercultural competency, and empathy, as well as to approach academia with critical thinking and contribution to their own countries on scientific matters. A high degree of academic freedom, excellent instruction, and a focus on scientific and technical innovation and advancement are the key platforms that the university prioritizes to accomplish this. In conclusion, our organization wants to support global peace initiatives and the well-being of society by taking the lead in social, cultural, and economic development.
