Program description
Economics is the study of how to distribute limited resources and how to produce and distribute goods and services in a way that maximizes societal prosperity. Microeconomic theory and macroeconomic theory are the two areas in the science of economics. Consumers, producers, and the economic study of units are the main subjects of microeconomic theory. Macroeconomic theory, on the other hand, examines the economy from a broader perspective, concentrating on problems like national income, inflation, unemployment, economic growth, and the balance of payments. Numerous courses in the Department of Economics concentrate on both areas. Providing a basic understanding of the skills and techniques necessary in a competitive and global economic environment is the first goal of the undergraduate Economics program. The second goal is to improve the student's capacity to critically evaluate research materials while improving his or her analytical research skills.
In addition to being well-prepared for jobs in the public sector, academic employment, management, and economics industries, the program's graduates are also given access to an academic setting that allows them to specialize in these areas.
