Program description
With training in general psychology as a behavioral science, research skills in counseling and education, and the ability to provide effective counseling, the program aims to prepare students to become psychological counselors. Both typical developmental problems and concerns related to physical, emotional, and mental disorders are addressed; psychological and educational testing is done; and various methods of individual and group counseling and therapy are used. In order to operate in a range of settings, the curriculum will assist students in creating a professional identity as both an education expert and a counselor.
Turkish is the department's primary language of instruction. Students are admitted to the department based on the TM-3 point and grading system. For those who appreciate the social sciences, have a particular interest in psychology, and like helping others, the department may be the perfect place to study.
The TRNC and Turkish Education Ministries' primary and secondary schools, psychological counseling departments, private psychological and psychotherapy, guidance research centers, military academies, Turkish Armed Forces guidance and psychological counseling centers, trade unions, private companies, local administrations, health centers, community or youth centers, guidance and counseling centers, guidance and counseling centers, education centers, family and juvenile courts, police academies, social services institutions, and human resources departments are among the employment options available to graduates of this department. Additionally, graduates may work as career consultants.
Students are encouraged to attend congresses or symposiums with their teachers and instructors, and the program regularly organizes a variety of panel discussions, conferences, and seminars.
Program structure
4 years undergraduate programme
Developmental psychology and methods of therapy are the primary subjects of the undergraduate program. During the first four semesters, students must complete compulsory courses in the topic, teaching, general culture, and applied courses. Students must enroll in several theory courses that are specifically focused on the subject as well as more applied courses throughout the third and fourth year semesters. In cooperation and coordination with the Faculty of Education, special and private schools, education centers, and schools run by the Ministry of National Education, applied courses are offered. Every training program or applied course will be run under the direction of teaching staff.

All international students accepted for admission will be entitled to receive a scholarship amount between 50% to 100% according to the academic merits per candidate
