Program description

The aim of the department of Health Management is to train health managers who have a good understanding of policy-making and financial management of health services. The program makes sure that students have a thorough understanding of epidemiology, health delivery models, health promotion, research methods, health informatics, and ethical and legal issues in healthcare. It also places a strong emphasis on marketing, human resources, and strategic planning in the healthcare industry. The title of "health managers" will be awarded to program graduates.

The overall goal of the program is to produce managers and administrators who have embraced the idea of lifelong learning, who are receptive to new ideas and closely monitor technological advancements, who can apply knowledge to real-world situations, who can create projects that benefit society, and who can lead by example in their professional lives.

Areas of possible employment include:

  • Healthy Ministries or Provisional departments/organizations
  • Institution for state/public hospitals,
  • Associations dealing with public/state hospitals
  • Private Health institutions (hospitals, medical centres, clinics, home care services, dialysis centres, diagnose centres, dental clinics or hospitals)
  • Insurance companies
  • Social Welfare Departments
  • Private or voluntary institutions dealing with health services (Red Crescent, Civil Defence Organizations)
  • Instructors or academics in universities which have health management departments
  • Health planning officers, directors in Turkish Armed Forces hospitals or central health institution
  • Companies supplying medical equipment
  • Media institutions dealing with the health sector
