Program description
Classes in the psychology department of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences at the European University of Lefke began in the 2013–2014 academic year. The psychology program lasts four years.
Developmental psychology, social psychology, industrial and organizational psychology, and research methods in psychology are among the subfields of psychology that are taught in the curriculum. The program also includes other courses that are now required due to the current situation in the nation, such as crisis intervention, psychological trauma training, and psycho-oncology. It is expected that the curriculum, which aims to introduce clinical psychology and modern theories of psychotherapy, will be expanded to include additional subfields.
Beginning in their third year of study, students will have the chance to grow as individuals by enrolling in a number of elective courses that are provided by the faculty or their own department. They will have the chance to further broaden their knowledge and experiences through the final year project they must do before graduating, which will equip them for any future academic endeavors.
After eight academic semesters, graduates will receive a degree in psychology. Graduates of their curriculum will acquire the ability to think creatively and scientifically, becoming self-assured individuals who may continue to grow. Graduates can work in hospitals, health care institutions, education or pre-school services, and both public and private organizations.
