Program description

The Department of Software Engineering deals with the entire process of software manufacturing. Writing software programs is only one aspect of software engineering; other tasks include planning and managing the standard of software development while effectively managing time and finances. The application of several software disciplines and principles is also included in the field.

The Department wants to produce highly skilled and competent software professionals by teaching our students the newest software technologies. One of our main objectives is to develop innovative people who can construct cutting-edge software using contemporary information technology.

It is impossible to imagine modern life without computers and the internet. Computer software is becoming more and more important as we use computers more and more in our daily lives. Whether it is through computer operating systems, gaming, internet search engines, social media platforms, online banking, or smartphone applications, software programs have an impact on practically every aspect of life. More significantly, the applications of software development demonstrate its significance. Smart phones, digital cameras, computer-controlled security systems, military missile defense systems, spacecraft, surgical robots, industrial robots, smart washing machines, and other essential 21st-century devices all require intricate and well-designed software programming.

Courses on software requirements, analysis, design and architecture, programming quality, software standards, computer-human interaction, computer networking, databases, and administration systems are mandatory for third-year juniors in addition to the standard software engineering courses.

Following their areas of interest, senior fourth-year students will be asked to select five technical electives provided during the final semester, with a primary concentration on third-generation programming languages like Java and C#.
