Program description
The 2018–2019 academic year marked the beginning of the Final International University, Faculty of Educational Sciences, Special Education Teaching Program. In order to graduate from the four-year program, students must complete 65 courses totaling 150 credits each hour, of which 42 are in professional knowledge, 19 are in general culture, and 89 are in education and practice.
Turkish is the language of instruction in the program. and just the undergraduate curriculum is offered at this time. Students in the special education program's undergraduate curriculum take broad culture classes in addition to courses that prepare them for their future careers. Particular Instruction In addition to common courses in the field of special education, teaching students receive intense instruction in the form of field electives, vocational electives, and culture courses starting in the third semester of their studies. Students in this program are required to take a minimum of one elective course in each of the following areas: giftedness, learning disability, autism spectrum disorder, intellectual disability, hearing impairment, and visual impairment. However, in order to pursue their chosen field of specialization, students must complete at least seven elective courses in that subject. As a result, the teacher candidates will be able to advance in both their field of specialization and the special education fields previously indicated. As a result, this curriculum will also allow our students the chance to modify their newly gained information and skills to suit the demands of various people.
Graduates of our Special Education Teaching Program can find employment as "Special Education Teachers" in Turkey, at the Ministry of National Education of the TRNC, in public and private educational institutions, rehabilitation facilities, counseling offices, and research centers. Graduates can also apply to MA and PhD programs in order to become experts and academicians in university departments of special education.
