Program description

21st-century art is dominated by video games. Game development takes talent, dedication, and enthusiasm. The Game-Art three-year advanced diploma teaches video game art principles and methods needed to enter into the business.

This curriculum teaches concept art, sprite and pixel art, modelling, texturing, animation, and level design. You'll create commercial, educational, and other games alongside industry-experienced teachers and local game industry professionals.

In a simulated video game studio, you will develop commercial-quality games with industry partners and game programmers. You pick game modelling or game animation in the second year.

Base tuition fee (for two semesters - 1 year):

Additional fees:

  • Application Fee - 110 CAD 
  • Incidental Fees (student ID, student association membership, etc) - 2,000 CAD 
  • Mandatory Health Insurance - 790 CAD for 1 year coverage

Admission Requirements

*Qualified applicants will be invited to complete the application questionnaire and submit a portfolio electronically. Details on the application questionnaire and portfolio requirements will be communicated at a later date to qualified applicants, as part of the review process.

English language proficiency

  • George Brown English for Academic Purposes (EAP) Program - Level 8;
  • IELTS (Academic) - 6.0, minimum 5.5 in each skill band;
  • TOEFL - 80 (online) minimum 20 in each skill band;
  • Duolingo English Test - 105;
  • MELAB - 80;
  • PTE (Academic) - 54, overall minimum, 50 in each skill band;
  • CAEL - 60 (overall);
  • Cambridge English Exams (B2 First, C1 Advanced or C2 Proficiency) - 169 or more (with no individual skill below 162).
