Program description
This intensive 12-month Commercial Dance program will teach you the necessary performance skills and marketability to work in the vast field of commercial dance. A graduate can dance, sing, and act, allowing them to pursue careers in music videos, musical theater, cruise ship performances, and other areas.
Jazz, hip hop, and ballet training are combined with extensive acting, vocal, and chorus repertoire. Your professional commercial dance career will begin with strong career management and personal marketing skills, as well as polished performance technique.
Selection Of Students
Dance training at the intermediate jazz level is required for admission, with training in additional dance forms considered a significant asset. Prospective students must pass both a jazz audition and an interview.

- Mandatory Health Insurance - 790 CAD for 1 year coverage
- Audition fee - 65 CAD
Requirements for applicants
Admission Requirements
- Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent
- Grade 12 English (C or U).
- GBC is accepting audition requests through video submissions
- A minimum of five years training in jazz dance; training in additional dance forms is an asset.
English language proficiency
- George Brown English for Academic Purposes (EAP) Program - Level 8;
- IELTS (Academic) - 6.0, minimum 5.5 in each skill band;
- TOEFL - 80 (online) minimum 20 in each skill band;
- Duolingo English Test - 105;
- MELAB - 80;
- PTE (Academic) - 54, overall minimum, 50 in each skill band;
- CAEL - 60 (overall);
- Cambridge English Exams (B2 First, C1 Advanced or C2 Proficiency) - 169 or more (with no individual skill below 162).
