Program description

The success of large-scale construction projects nationwide is dependent on the welding trade, which is in high demand. Become a welding expert with the help of the Welding Techniques certificate program's one-year curriculum, which combines classroom instruction with practical experience. You will be able to refine your abilities in a controlled environment with the help of our state-of-the-art welding lab, which has 26 stations and virtual welding simulators. An infrared camera and monitor are also part of our Smart Welding Lab, so teachers can show students how to weld while digitally documenting the process.

Requirements for applicants

Admission Requirements

  • Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent
  • grade 12 English (C or U)
  • grade 11 Math (M or U) or Grade 12 (C or U)

English language proficiency

  • George Brown English for Academic Purposes (EAP) Program - Level 8;
  • IELTS (Academic) - 6.0, minimum 5.5 in each skill band;
  • TOEFL - 80 (online) minimum 20 in each skill band;
  • Duolingo English Test - 105;
  • MELAB - 80;
  • PTE (Academic) - 54, overall minimum, 50 in each skill band;
  • CAEL - 60 (overall);
  • Cambridge English Exams (B2 First, C1 Advanced or C2 Proficiency) - 169 or more (with no individual skill below 162).
