Program description

Earning a diploma in carpentry and renovation after two years will put you in a strong position to find work in the building and renovation industry, where eco-friendly practices are highly valued.

Gaining a thorough grasp of the trades associated to renovations, you will master new skills in construction and building restoration, carpentry, and the applications of new materials. You will learn sustainable design principles through hands-on work in well-equipped labs as you practice framing and finishing processes.

Additional fees:

  • Application Fee - 110 CAD 
  • Incidental Fees (student ID, student association membership, etc) - 2,000 CAD 
  • Mandatory Health Insurance - 790 CAD for 1 year coverage

Requirements for applicants

Admission Requirements

  • Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent
  • grade 12 English (C or U)
  • grade 11 Math (M or U) or grade 12 (C or U)

English language proficiency

  • George Brown English for Academic Purposes (EAP) Program - Level 8;
  • IELTS (Academic) - 6.0, minimum 5.5 in each skill band;
  • TOEFL - 80 (online) minimum 20 in each skill band;
  • Duolingo English Test - 105;
  • MELAB - 80;
  • PTE (Academic) - 54, overall minimum, 50 in each skill band;
  • CAEL - 60 (overall);
  • Cambridge English Exams (B2 First, C1 Advanced or C2 Proficiency) - 169 or more (with no individual skill below 162).
