Program description
Film Production - Directing for Extended Reality is a two-year curriculum that teaches students how to be successful directors in the digital, virtual, and traditional worlds of film, television, streaming, advertising, and social media. As they work with a variety of professionals to realize a creative vision, they learn to direct actors successfully.
Learners immerse themselves in LED wall technology to comprehend the processes at work and become proficient in the pre-production techniques necessary for producing high-quality LED wall films. Graduates will be able to translate ideas or scripts into captivating video content that is appropriate for both virtual and traditional productions, as well as execute a holistic vision for virtual sets and live-action characters.
The capacity to combine modern production techniques with time-tested pipelines is another skill that graduates will have. This involves being well-versed in state-of-the-art technology, such as the Unreal Engine program, which is used in conjunction with LED walls and volumes. With this all-encompassing method, students are prepared to not just survive in, but thrive in, the dynamic field of media and film production.
