Program description
The Social Service Worker diploma program is two years long and will teach you the values, principles, and abilities you need to help a diverse clientele deal with a wide array of social problems.
This program is ideal for those who are good communicators, dedicated to studying the interplay between social position, oppression, and power, and who want to help build a more equal society. Students will be well-equipped for careers in fields such as mental health, substance abuse, homelessness, poverty, criminal justice, crisis support, long-term care, criminal justice, and immigration and settlement.

Admission Requirements
- Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent
- grade 12 English (C or U) – minimum grade of 60 per cent required
English language proficiency
- George Brown English for Academic Purposes (EAP) Program - Level 8;
- IELTS (Academic) - 6.0, minimum 5.5 in each skill band;
- TOEFL - 80 (online) minimum 20 in each skill band;
- Duolingo English Test - 105;
- MELAB - 80;
- PTE (Academic) - 54, overall minimum, 50 in each skill band;
- CAEL - 60 (overall);
- Cambridge English Exams (B2 First, C1 Advanced or C2 Proficiency) - 169 or more (with no individual skill below 162).
