Program description
The advanced diploma program in Computer Engineering Technology at Humber teaches you how to create and construct the cutting-edge technologies that power the majority of governments and businesses worldwide.
You will learn skills in electronics, networking, hardware and software, and a range of systems from professionals in the field. You will also learn how to modernize and integrate newly developed technologies into pre-existing systems.
The industry collaborated to build the curriculum, guaranteeing that you are gaining the skills that businesses need. In order to build software skills and expertise in data communications, networking, and security, the program includes courses in programming, electronics, real-time systems, Linux/Ubuntu/Windows installation, configuration, and administration, and network programming. You will deal with different network protocols and microcontrollers, design, install, and run embedded and network systems, as well as learn how to improve and expand existing programs.
During your last year, you will compare various computer architectures, complete a significant project with an embedded system, study the inner workings of networks using various application programming interfaces (APIs) to create network applications, and concentrate on integrating all of your skills.
