Program description
Humber's advanced diploma program in Computer Programming and Analysis prepares you for a variety of careers in the fast-growing disciplines of computer programming, software development, and web analysis.
Students learn theory and practise in web development and design, Oracle database management and administration, project management, technical writing, and all elements of information systems. Students will also learn Java, ASP.NET, PHP, JavaScript, Python, and mobile programming (Android and iOS). Students in this degree can also study big data, cloud computing, AI, machine learning, data analytics, and IT security.
Students learn integrated software solution organization, creation, testing, and implementation standards. To prepare for today's competitive employment environment, students learn to collaborate.
Graduates can assess business needs and argue for workflow solutions that improve or automate workflow for individuals and organizations. This program graduates will have the latest skills and knowledge to succeed in a wide range of employment settings, across industries, and in large and small organizations, from creating and testing computer programs to securing integrated solutions.

Requirements for applicants
International Academic Equivalencies:
- Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent including these required courses:
- Grade 12 English (ENG4C or ENG4U or equivalent)
- Grade 12 Mathematics (MAP4C, MCT4C, MDM4U, MCB4U, MGA4U, MCV4U or MHF4U or equivalent)
- Two Grade 11 or Grade 12 C, M or U courses in addition to those listed above
or
- Mature student status
or
- College or university transfer status
For Indian applicants one of the following:
- All India Senior School Certificate/Higher Secondary School Certificate
- Year 12 State Board Exams with a minimum grade of 70 or above in required program subjects.
- Applicants who previously completed post-secondary education require to provide backlog summary. Maximum backlog attempts accepted:
- Bachelor’s degree 3 year: 2 backlog attempts
- Bachelor’s degree 4 year: 4 backlog attempts
- Master’s degree: no restriction
- 10 + 3 Curriculum: 4 backlog attempts
To be eligible you must possess the equivalent of an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) and required courses as noted in the course list.
English Proficiency requirements are:
- A minimum TOEFL Academic Level score of 550 (paper based) or 80 (internet based) or
- an IELTS with an overall minimum score of 6.0 (with no single band score below 5.5) or
- CAEL with an overall band score of 60 or
- Cambridge English Test with B2 First / C1 Advanced / C2 Proficiency 169 (with no single subscore below 162) or
- Duolingo Language Test with score 105 and above+
- International applicants may be asked to submit an ICAS or WES evaluation.
