Program description
The advanced diploma degree in sport management offered by Humber trains you to oversee the business side of sports.
You will gain in-depth understanding of the design and operation of the Canadian sports industry, including the roles and responsibilities of various organizations, the laws and policies that regulate sports, standards for coaching, organizing and hosting tournaments, and the growth of sports sponsorship. In addition, you will acquire the business, administrative, human resources, organizational, and practical skills required to seek a career in the field.
The industry collaborates in the course design process to guarantee that the curriculum is up to date and applicable. Full-time instructors, managers, and directors of athletic organizations will instruct you. Guest speakers from organizations like Maple Leafs Sports & Entertainment, Tennis Canada, Ontario Basketball, and numerous game organizing committees are included in the varied curriculum of classes. Field visits and hands-on training are further components of the program.

Requirements for applicants
International Academic Equivalencies:
- Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent including these required courses:
- Grade 12 English (ENG4C or ENG4U or equivalent)
- Three Grade 11 or Grade 12 C, M or U courses in addition to those listed above
or
- Mature student status
or
- College or university transfer status
For Indian applicants one of the following:
- All India Senior School Certificate/Higher Secondary School Certificate
- Year 12 State Board Exams with a minimum grade of 70 or above in required program subjects.
- Applicants who previously completed post-secondary education require to provide backlog summary. Maximum backlog attempts accepted:
- Bachelor’s degree 3 year: 2 backlog attempts
- Bachelor’s degree 4 year: 4 backlog attempts
- Master’s degree: no restriction
- 10 + 3 Curriculum: 4 backlog attempts
To be eligible you must possess the equivalent of an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) and required courses as noted in the course list.
English Proficiency requirements are:
- A minimum TOEFL Academic Level score of 550 (paper based) or 80 (internet based) or
- an IELTS with an overall minimum score of 6.0 (with no single band score below 5.5) or
- CAEL with an overall band score of 60 or
- Cambridge English Test with B2 First / C1 Advanced / C2 Proficiency 169 (with no single subscore below 162) or
- Duolingo Language Test with score 105 and above+
- International applicants may be asked to submit an ICAS or WES evaluation.
