Program description
The Bachelor of Commerce - Management Studies degree program at Humber prepares you for a number of managerial roles in a wide range of businesses.
Based on the seven classic management functions (planning, organizing, staffing, directing, co-ordinating, reporting, and budgeting), the curriculum provides you with the skills and knowledge to:
- create business strategies
- investigate issues from numerous angles
- apply classroom learning to industry-related tasks
Transferable skills such as interpersonal contact, communication, and organization should be integrated into all classroom and project work.
Our program begins with a solid foundation in business disciplines such as organizational behavior, law, economics, finance and accounting, marketing, and operations management. All seven management functions, as well as business research methods and strategic management, are covered in specialization courses.
You'll also acquire hands-on experience that will offer you with both the education and experience that employers look for once you graduate. Professors that are well-known for their real-world ties and backgrounds will teach you. Our industry-designed, project-based curriculum allows you to take your ideas from concept to completion.
You will complete a senior-level project in your final year, which will allow you to work in a team, problem solve, analyze strengths and weaknesses, gather and synthesize data, and make suitable judgments.

Requirements for applicants
International Academic Equivalencies:
- Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent including these required courses:
- Grade 12 English (ENG4U or equivalent) minimum 65 per cent
- Grade 12 Mathematics (MDM4U, MCB4U, MGA4U, MCV4U or MHF4U or equivalent) minimum 60 per cent (Students who do not possess Grade 12U Mathematics or who have achieved a grade below 60 per cent may be considered for admission. Students will be required to complete a math equivalency course during their first semester at Humber.)
- Four Grade 12 U or M courses in addition to those listed above
- Overall minimum grade point average (GPA) 65 per cent
- Transcripts for any post-secondary courses or programs completed or
- College or university transfer status
For Indian applicants one of the following:
- All India Senior School Certificate/Higher Secondary School Certificate
- Year 12 State Board Exams with a minimum grade of 70 or above in required program subjects
- Transcripts for any post-secondary courses or programs completed
Note: Applicants with English and/or math scores that do not meet Humber's admission requirements are not able to request additional testing.
To be eligible you must possess the equivalent of an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) and required courses.
English Proficiency requirements are:
- A minimum TOEFL Academic Level score of 550 (paper based) or 80 (internet based) or
- an IELTS with an overall minimum score of 6.0 (with no single band score below 5.5) or
- CAEL with an overall band score of 60 or
- Cambridge English Test with B2 First / C1 Advanced / C2 Proficiency 169 (with no single subscore below 162) or
- Duolingo Language Test with score 105 and above+
- International applicants may be asked to submit an ICAS or WES evaluation.
