Program description

Among the three programs that make up the Carpentry-Construction division, Humber offers a certificate in Carpentry and Renovation Techniques. In addition to the advanced diploma in construction engineering technology and the building construction technician diploma, students in this program learn the fundamentals of carpentry and gain hands-on experience while also learning about industry standards and regulations. Students who complete this certificate program will be eligible to continue on to the diploma and advanced diploma levels.

Join us in this program as we walk you through the academic requirements for carpentry trade certification as well as the practical experience required to comply with trade rules. The course will provide you with a thorough grounding in the technical aspects of the carpentry trade.

By the end of the course, you will be able to renovate and construct buildings safely and in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and contractual obligations. We will teach these approaches with an eye toward current sustainability standards. You will gain experience using tools properly and will be able to lend a hand with estimate preparation.
