Program description
Humber's Creative Writing – Fiction, Creative Non-Fiction, Poetry graduate certificate program is online. You'll work one-on-one with a professional writer-mentor to improve your short stories, poetry, memoir, or novel-in-progress through comments on your own manuscript. The program is for those working on book-length projects, such as a novel, memoir, short story collection, or poetry book.
Students can now work with a playwright mentor on a full-length play.
Humber has world-renowned writing coaches. Martin Amis, Peter Carey, Miriam Toews, David Mitchell, Esi Edugyan, Nino Ricci, Margaret Atwood, Lawrence Hill, Anne Michaels, Edward Albee, Ha Jin, and Alistair MacLeod were mentors. Jenny Offill, Nell Freudenberger, and Samantha Harvey are international novelists.
This is a project-based program where you complete your own manuscript.
