Program description
The Event Management graduate certificate program at Humber offers in-depth instruction, practical experience, and opportunities to network with professionals in the area. Here you will learn the ropes: finding the perfect location, organizing the timeline and logistics, setting the stage, choosing the menu, managing the money, hiring the right people, evaluating the event after the fact, and meeting professional standards. Corporate meeting planning, film, documentary, and music festivals; non-profit experiential events and galas; brand experiences; consumer events; trade exhibitions; and a myriad of other types of events will all be covered in this course.
In addition, you will learn practical, transferrable skills in event management, including but not limited to: organizing, designing, marketing, managing volunteers and human resources, sponsorship, catering, budgeting, risk assessment, and evaluation (both for physical and virtual events). Many of the faculty members still hold positions of authority in the event management profession, a testament to their extensive experience and ability in the field.
