Program description

Humber's Welding Techniques certificate program is intended to help new welders get started in the trade. By providing practical experience with trade regulations and practices, the program aims to facilitate employment and enrollment into the apprenticeship program. You will get a good understanding of the major technical theories and welding trade aspects.

Health and safety, blueprint reading and sketching, applied math, communication, shielded metal arc welding, gas metal arc welding, introduction to computers, and all position structural welding will all be covered. You will gain vital skills by working in well equipped, up-to-date labs and shops and using the most recent industrial software packages. At Humber, competent instructors highlight current industry trends and seek to replicate situations that apprentices and expert tradesmen may encounter on the job.

Students who complete the program are able to take the Canadian Welding Bureau (CWB) certification exam. This certification has a separate price. We have a success percentage of more than 95% for individuals who challenge the CWB certification at Humber.
