Program description
Humber's award-winning Multimedia Design and Development diploma program teaches web design, mobile interface design, experience design, motion graphics, 2D animation, web coding, streaming, user testing, video and sound editing, user interface prototyping, digital storytelling, and interactive design. Through hands-on study, you'll build the creative and technical skills needed for filmmaking, motion graphics, web design, and interactive content development.
Multimedia Design and Development is one of two prevalent platform programs. This program's first semester is combined with Graphic Design. This exposes you to programming, design, creative thinking, and collaborative work with students in adjacent subjects. Greater exposure to the ever-evolving world of design and development will allow you to explore the fringes of this field of study before confirming your emphasis in the second semester.
You'll master industry-standard tools including Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Xd, Audition, Adobe Animate, and Premiere from professional lecturers. HTML5, XML, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, PHP, and MySQL are used in hands-on learning circumstances with relevant industrial projects.
You'll develop teamwork and project management abilities through group assignments and multidisciplinary work. This prepares you for collaborative projects and gives you real-world perspective on multimedia work. You'll be prepared to pursue new media chances by establishing a portfolio to show potential employers or clients. You'll also learn about the entrepreneurial prospects available to people in this sector. Our mobile usability lab and a work placement will help students develop real-world user experience abilities.
