Program description
This MSc program, offered by IMI, is designed for students who have a Bachelor's degree but no professional experience. The curriculum focuses on core strategic management skills in the hotel and events industries and provides a wide understanding of operational management, planning, and strategy in an international setting. Following the end of the study semesters, students can participate in paid work placements in Switzerland or abroad, gaining valuable industrial experience and strengthening their CV. For those wishing to advance as managers in either of these international domains, this program provides the ideal combination of theoretical competencies and practical understanding.

Semester 1:
- International Events, Facilities and Venue Management: 20 credits
- Hospitality Operations and Human Resources Management: 20 credits
- Finance and Revenue Management in Hospitality: 10 credits
- International Conference Management: 20 credits
- International Strategic Management for Hospitality: 10 credits
- New Venture Creation and Innovation in Events:20 credits
- Live Events: 10 credits
Semester 2:
- Research Methods and Dissertation: 60 credits
- Marketing Strategies in the Digital Era: 10 credits
Professional practice CHF 2,212 monthly (optional)
Up to 44 weeks of work placements in Switzerland

Each of the blocks above represents a 22-week semester of study. After each semester of study, students can participate in a paid internship in Switzerland or abroad. (The Swiss minimum monthly wage is 2,212 CHF)
Requirements for applicants
- Motivation Letter, outlining who you are, why you would like to study at IMI in Switzerland and your plans for your future career in this industry - approx. 500 words
- CV/Résumé in English
- Bachelor's degree in any discipline
- IELTS 6.5 or equivalent English test results
