Program description
The Political Sciences and International Relations Department at Istanbul Aydn University's Institute of Social Sciences seeks to provide students with in-depth knowledge and perspectives on contemporary global as well as domestic political and international issues. Students will have a rudimentary understanding of the causes of many problems in both professions. Furthermore, programme participants will get the necessary abilities for developing and analysing policies on the main areas.
English is the training language. Students who pass the English Proficiency Exam prepared and administered by the English Preparatory School of Istanbul Aydn University are eligible to participate in the first year of the programme. Students who fail the competence exam will get two semesters of English language training at Istanbul Aydn University's English Preparation School. Students must get a document from the English Teaching Department demonstrating their achievement at the end of their language training programme, or they must obtain a successful result in the University's officially recognised exams such as UDS, KPDS, TOEFL, IELTS, FCE, and CPE.
The curriculum is a 120 ECTS credit programme that lasts two academic years with two semesters each. The typical programme consists of 7 courses worth 21 local credits, a seminar, and a thesis work worth 60 ECTS credits over the course of two semesters. If the prospective student's background is deemed unsuitable for the programme, the institute may ask him or her to attend additional courses at the request of the programme director.

Requirements for applicants
- Undergraduate diploma (a copy translated to Turkish or English)
- Undergraduate transcript (a copy translated to Turkish or English)
- Photocopy of the relevant pages of your passport
- A cumulative GPA of 2,5 (on a 4,0) or equivalent
- For English degree program applicants: TOEFL score - 66 points or YDS/YÖKDİL score - 55 points/PTE (60) (If English is not the first/official language of the country). If students do not have TOEFL or YDS/YÖKDİL or PTE then they have to pass English Proficiency Exam, which will be held in IAU.
