Program description
This one-of-a-kind master's program fosters participants' strategic thinking with the end goal of producing professionals with broad skill sets across the design industry.
Each student will work with an experienced creative director and an Italian product or furniture design company on a strategic research project over the course of the two semesters.
By focusing on various facets of business, design, and communication, they will be able to fully explore and adapt to various management models and processes, thereby enhancing their understanding of operational issues and preparing them to develop and implement novel and creative management solutions for design-intensive businesses.

Requirements for applicants
Candidates must have a sufficient command of the English or the chosen language of the course to be able to meet the requirements of the programme in every respect.
When considering the suitability of an applicant for a place on the programme the Admissions team will usually take the following factors into account:
- three years degree or equivalent;
- the applicant’s qualifications;
- the information given in supporting academic references;
- the applicant’s personal statement;
- a portfolio of work (if appropriate to the subject).
About the university
In 1935, Milanese tailor Giulio Marangoni established Istituto, which by 1942 had evolved into the Scuola Professionale Artistica. While the school's focus was initially on educating pattern makers and seamstresses, it shifted to fashion design, product development, and marketing in the 1970s and 1980s.
