Program description
Our three technical bakery courses provide you with the foundational knowledge and hands-on experience you need to succeed in the fast-paced, creative, and rewarding world of commercial baking and food processing.
You will gain a broad understanding of the field, from the art and science of chocolate, bread, and pastry making to the precise techniques of baking chemistry and the paramount importance of food safety.

Program structure
Students can choose 3 study options:
1. Certificate of High Education (CertHE, 1 year program)
The first year of a three-year program, our CertHE Baking and Pastry Technology programme is a great place to start. Prospective students may be interested in the DipHE or BSc programs from the get-go, but those who are short on time can still acquire the fundamental knowledge and abilities necessary to get into the baking profession by completing the CertHE program in only one year.

2. Diplom of High Education (DipHE, 2 years program)
Our DipHE Advanced Baking and Pastry Technology course is the first two years of a potential three year course of study. While you may wish to enrol on to our three year BSc course from the outset, successful completion of the two year DipHE would be suitable for individuals who wish to develop the core skills required to enter the baking industry, with the advanced skills required for supervisory level roles in a range of settings.

3. Bachelor of Science (BSc, 3 years program)
Our BSc (Hons) Baking Science and Technology course is a three year course of study, and the highest taught qualification offered specifically in the baking industry. While you may wish to enrol on to our one year CertHE or two year DipHE courses from the outset, successful completion of the full BSc would be suitable for individuals who wish to develop the core skills required to enter the baking industry.

Price
Fee for two semester (1 year education) is 14900.00 pounds sterling for international students
Requirements for applicants
Entry requirements for Bachelor degree depend on the country-living of the students*
Requirements for admission on the example of students from India:
- Indian Standard XII: minimum average of 55-65% or higher (depending on exam board and LSBU course applied for)
- 3 passes at GCE A Level (required grades dependant on LSBU course applied for)
- International Baccalaureate Diploma: 24 points or higher
- Accredited UK Foundation programme: minimum 55-60% or higher
- Accredited Polytechnic/College Diploma (2 - 3 years duration) 58% or higher
Interview and portfolio:
Selection will be considered via submission of portfolio and UCAS statement. Applicants may be invited to attend an interview process which may include an element of practical testing to gauge level of practical ability.
English language requirements:
- IELTS Academic Overall score: 6.0 (with no component below 5.5)
- TOEFL IBT (Internet Based Test) Overall score: 80 Minimum scores required in each skill area are: Reading: 18 Listening: 17 Writing: 17 Speaking: 20
- Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic) Overall score: 52 (minimum score required in each skill area is 51)
- LanguageCert SELT or International ESOL (IESOL) Exam High Pass Note: for Student Visa the minimum score required in each skill area is 33* (*For C2 Mastery, min score for Listening is 25)
- University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations Overall score: 169 with no score below 162
- Trinity ISE Pass ISE II with Distinction in all 4 components
- Password Overall score: 6.0
- A-Level/ AS-Level English Language Grade C or above
- GCSE / O-Level English Language (Edexcel/ Cambridge Overseas exam boards) Grade C or above Grade 4 or above
- IGCSE English as a Second Language / First Language English (Cambridge Assessment) Grade C or above
