Program description

Health and social care providers can improve their support for terminally ill patients and their families by taking this training co-hosted by London South Bank University and Saint Francis Hospice. The course covers the physical, psychological, and spiritual challenges that patients and their families face.

The European Association for Palliative Care's established core skills in palliative care serve as its basis. In addition to being in line with the goals of the Department of Health and the Health Education England (HEE) for the development of a palliative and end-of-life care workforce, it is compatible with the fundamental skills and values held by health and social care workers who assist terminally ill persons. Because palliative care is inherently interdisciplinary, students benefit from a blended learning approach that places an emphasis on bridging the gap between theory and practice, developed and implemented by a multi-professional teaching team.
