Program description

Set out to teach social studies to high school students. The broad ideas and topics of social studies will be covered in this program for preparing professional educators, along with how to make them engaging for your pupils. A wide range of liberal arts courses, specialized social studies content courses, and core education courses will all be covered.

Students can work with faculty, participate in a dynamic curriculum, and develop their teaching skills in New England College's Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Education, Secondary Social Studies 5–12 program. The program builds upon this foundation with critical concepts from historical and modern-world settings to inspire students.

Requirements for applicants

  • Academic Entry Requirement: GPA: 2.5
  • A Completed Application for Admission
  • Official secondary school transcript or records (with English translation if necessary).
  • Copy of a valid passport
  • Proof of financial ability to pay tuition, fees, and living expenses for your first year, after NEC scholarships and financial assistance.  This amount is $33,500 for the 2024–2025 academic year.
